Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADELLA (ADELE) PATZER (nee NEURENBERG) It is with great sadness that the family of Adele Patzer announces her passing on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at the Beausejour Hospital. Adele was born on October 30, 1921 in Steinbach, Manitoba to Ferdinand and Alwine Neurenberg. Adele spent her youth in Friedensfeld, Manitoba until the family moved to the Glenmoor area in 1939. The Neurenberg's were a farming family in the time when there were few machines and conveniences to get the work done and the whole family, including the young children pitched in to make a living. Adele married Frederick Patzer of Thalberg, Manitoba on June 16, 1940. They bought 40 acres of farmland in Glenmoor where they planned to farm and raise a family. Fred's untimely death in September of 1943 left Adele widowed at the age of 22 with an infant daughter and another baby on the way. In September of 1944 Adele married Adolf Patzer and they were blessed with a son and a daughter. They farmed in Glenmoor until August 1953 and then moved to Thalberg, MB. In 1962 Adele moved to Winnipeg and worked at the St. Boniface Hospital for many years. She held several positions in the food service industry until she obtained the position of Head Chef and Manageress of the dining room and cafeteria at the Manitoba Legislative Building. Adele loved her job and took great pride in her work and was highly respected in her field. Shortly after her retirement she moved to Beausejour where she spent many happy years gardening, renewing old friendships, spending time with family and enjoying life. Adele was predeceased by her husbands Frederick in 1943 and Adolf in 2004, her sisters Lena and husband Bill Kowalke, Hilda and husband Martin Zirk, Lillian (in infancy), Irene and husband Fred Frank and brother-in-law Louis Hemminger. Adele is survived by her four children, Leona Hiebert, Eileen Struss (Winston), Raymond Patzer (Shirley) and Lynn Fosty (Steven), 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth Hemminger, Eleanor Gatzke and brother Edward Neurenberg (Gladys).
