ANTONIN (TONY) FASS

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTONIN (TONY) FASS Peacefully, on May 28, 2009, at Fiddick's Nursing Home, Petrolia, Ontario, Antonin (Tony) Fass, son of the late Joseph and Sophie Fus of Transcona, Manitoba. Predeceased by his wife Doreen (Howard) Fass of Toronto and Sarnia, Ontario, and Cork, Ireland. Tony was born in Transcona and attended Transcona Central School. He graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1944. Tony spent a portion of his working life in Sarnia, Ontario, and was employed as a chemist by Polysar Corporation. He subsequently worked in Toronto. For a number of years, Tony was a faithful member of the string section of Orchestra Toronto, an avid birder and member of the Toronto Field Naturalists. Tony is survived by brothers Walter Fass of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Alfred Fass of Delta, British Columbia, sisters Mary Michalchuk, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Alice Small (Richard) Winnipeg, Manitoba, nieces Dianne Miller (John) Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Cindy Sheridan, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Carolyn Drysdale (Ken) of Calgary, Alberta, Nichole Kalaitzakis, (Dino), Winnipeg, Manitoba, nephews Timophy Fass, (Amanda) Delta, British Columbia, Matthew Michalchuk (Anne-Marie) of Calgary, Alberta, Andrew Small of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Thomas Small, (Laura), Winnipeg, Manitoba. Tony will be missed by his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kathryn Gabriel and Margaret Miller, Sarnia, Ontario. On September 8, a memorial service will be held in the Church of the Transfiguration, Manor Park Road, Toronto, Ontario, with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto, Ontario.
