Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUSSELL (RUSS) L. FOGG, B.E.M. Beloved husband of Wynne Fogg, passed peacefully after an extended illness on May 21, 2009 at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg. Russ was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 17, 1917, eldest son of Elizabeth and Walter Fogg. Growing up on Home Street in Winnipeg with his two elder sisters, Irene and Grace and three younger brothers, Roy, Walter and Ron, Russ made many life-long friends. He was predeceased by his sister Irene; his brother Ron; sisters-in-law, Joan, Dorraine, Amy, Ann, Vi; and brothers-in-law, Jim, Joe and Ted; nephews, Paul and Gary. Russ joined the Air Force in 1939 and was immediately stationed in London, England where he met and married Winnifred (Wynne) Bowern. He remained in England for the duration of the Second World War returning to Winnipeg with his family in 1946. The family lived on Union Avenue until 1958 then moved to Fleming Avenue until 1977. Upon retirement Russ and Wynne built a home in Lena, Manitoba where they lived until 1989, then returned to Winnipeg. Russ was a T. Eaton Company employee for close to 40 years, starting out parking cars before the war; later worked in Shipping and Receiving, Sporting Goods and Pets in the downtown store and later moved to the Polo Park store. One of his favourite stories was that of the time he drove the King, Queen and Princesses of England. Family and friends will remember Russ as a skilled craftsman, creating beautiful furniture and cabinetry and, in later years, amazing marquetry pieces which will be cherished by all of us lucky enough to have them. He had a life-long passion for stamp collecting and spent many hours working on his extensive collection and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with anyone interested. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, boating and was an accomplished swimmer. He was one of the first to try scuba diving and was an early member of the Manitoba Underwater Council. Russ loved a good time and good music to drum to. Russ is survived by his wife, Wynne; daughters and sons-in-law, CJ Avison, Chris and Bill Bevan, Winnipeg, Sandy and Gordy Driscoll, Sandy Hook, MB and Laurie and Larry Switzer, Medicine Hat, AB; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Grace, Roy and Walter; brother-in-law Aleck and many nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grampa and Friend and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Rest in Peace Dad, we love you. The family extends a sincere Thank You to the nurses and staff of 5U-7, Seven Oaks Hospital, Dr. Fatoye and Associates for their compassionate care. And Thank you Mom for taking such good care of Dad. As Russ wished, a celebration of his life with family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 starting at 2:00 p.m., in Sandy Hook, Lake Winnipeg. Call Chris or Sandy for details. In lieu of flowers send donations to Canadian Lung Association.

Uncle Russ was a favorite, so reminded me of my Dad. I am so thankful for the times we saw him both in Edmonton and Winnipeg; at the lake, in their apartment and one time in particular when he so generously drove Mark & I, Barbara and Debra around to see things in Winnipeg, including going to the Polar Park Zoo, lots of good memories. Our thoughts are with you, give Auntie Winnie a hug for us, Love Susan Mark Barbara & Debra. - Posted by: Susan McGillivray (Family) on: May 24, 2009
