Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryINGIBJORG (INGA) DANIELSON (PALSSON) With the same gentle nature, dignity and grace that she lived her life, Inga passed quietly from this world to be reunited with her true love, Baldur, on May 18, 2009, at the age of 86, after a full and rewarding life, her family by her side. Inga was born April 5, 1923 at Grenihlid, the family homestead. She has now joined her family, who have gone before her, her parents, Thorgrimur (Grimsi) and Gudrun (Nuna), brothers Helgi, Palmi, Haraldur, Steini (Inga), and sisters Runa and Soley (Roy) Page. In-laws Gudjon and Lauga, Norman, Johnny (Elleane), John Riordan and Bill Palsson. Inga is lovingly remembered by her children Les, Robert, Harold (Judy), Pat (Curtiss) Peterson, and Glen. She was a wonderful Amma to Justin, Mitchell (Marie Witenko), Dustin, Shawna (Shawn) Sigurdson, Stephanie (Mark) Sigurdson, Dana, Tristan (Shaina Johnston), Wesley, Erik, Erin and Jessie, and Long Amma to Ben, Emilee, Ashlynn and Athena Sigurdson, in-laws Ingimar, Alma Riordan, Gene Palsson, Gordon (Helen), and Dianne Sigvaldason (Dale), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours, too numerous to mention. She attended Island School and excelled in scholastic, athletic, and artistic endeavours. Upon graduating, she went to work for the North Star Creamery as a bookkeeper. One winter she accompanied her friend, Hulda to cook at Danielson's sawmill. This is where she met the love of her life, Baldur. They were married July 13, 1946, and they spent 55 loving years together. She had an unconditional love of family and friends. What can you say about someone who loved and cared about us until the end of her life's journey. One example of her gentle and understanding nature was that, during our teenage years, our visiting friends would crowd around the kitchen table for the opportunity to talk to her. Her nurturing spirit and endless patience endeared her to her children and grandchildren, and were a testament to her life. She volunteered with the Arborg Unitarian Church and was treasurer of the Ladies Aid for many years. Mom was very fortunate to have been able to remain in her home for so many years, due in no small part to the loving care of her son, Glen. He had a very strong bond with her, and held a special place in her heart. The rest of the family is so very thankful to him for taking such good care of her and always being there. We would also like to thank Robert for preparing her meals and his care. The family also wants to express their gratitude to the staff at the Arborg Personal Care Home. They made mom feel that she was at home these last few years. Their warmth and compassion truly made a difference to her quality of life. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held June 13, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Arborg Unitarian Church. Following the service coffee will be held at the Geysir Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Arborg Unitarian Church, the Arborg Personal Care Home, or the charity of your choice. Arborg Mackenzie Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
