DONALD (DON) WESLEY ROSS FROHWERK November 16, 1952 - May 31, 2009 It is with deep sorrow we announce Don's sudden death on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the age of 56 years. Remaining to forever cherish Don's memories are his wife of 24 years, Marsha and their son Donnie; his two sisters Joan (Keith) and Patti; nephew Jonathan and his children Trevor and Nicole; nephews and nieces Kevin, Ashley, Ryan and Jackie; his father-in-law Bill; his Aunt Hertha and Aunt Martha; cousin Terry (Margaret) and many more cousins. He was predeceased by his father Donald, mother Treva, step father Lorne and mother-in-law Lin. Don grew up in the Oakville area where he kept busy playing hockey and helping on the farm. Those roots were important to him and he remained connected to friends from the area. Right after graduating grade 12, he spent one year working on the farm then began working at MacDon Industries where he spent the rest of his working career of 36 years. Over the years he participated in the company hockey, baseball and curling leagues as well as the Employee Association. Don was an avid reader and modeler from a young age, building plastic models and as he grew, so did his hobbies. He enjoyed r/c airplanes, r/c boats, model trains, and of course riding his Harley as well as planning the next motorcycle trip all of which he shared with his family. He had hopes to retire from MacDon in another four years to pursue those hobbies. Whether his son was on stage, back stage or on the football field or curling rink, Don was there to guide him and support him. Don always had time for his family and made time for his friends which like his hobbies, were many. Don you have touched many people and you will be missed. A private family interment will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #200 - 6 Donald Street, Wpg., MB, R3L 0K6 or charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Sadness ... I always thought Don was such a great guy. My mom (Eva) says he was such a "sweet little boy" ... I rarely saw Don, but he was always friendly and funny. I remember his calling to me as I walked down a street one day -- I was with friends, and we were looking for bridal gowns. Their eyes widened at his gruff exterior, but I was glad to see him -- those books and their covers! My sincere condolences to Marsha and Donnie, and to Joan, Keith and Patti.
