CURTIS ALFRED HAWES February 28, 1959 - June 7, 2009 It is with great sadness we announce that our dad, grandpa, uncle and friend Curty passed away suddenly on Sunday June 7, 2009 at the age of 50. Curt is survived by his son Robbie, daughter Christy (Robert), their mother Kim (Gerry) and grandson Hunter; brothers and sisters Wayne (Kathy), Christine (Rollie), Cathy (Claude), George (Donna), Elin and best buddy Cor along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Grandpa Curty was cherished by his grandson Hunter, or as Hunter called him Grandpa Purdy ; they spent all day during visits playing hockey and golf. Curty spent most of his time with Robbie and Cor, the three of them did everything together from working on the latest project at Robbie's house, watching football and fishing. Curt enjoyed taking trips to the casinos with Rollie, Shane, Cor and Robbie and we all enjoy the stories they brought back. His brothers and sisters were very important to Curt and he always made his regular visits for coffee. He also had several friends at Mandak where he worked for the past 25 years. Curty was a friend to us all, we will miss his gentle laugh and sarcastic jokes as we celebrate his life and hold our memories near to our heart. A memorial service will be held on Friday June 12, 11:00 a.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel with lunch to follow at the Selkirk Legion. Interment will be held prior to the service for close friends and family. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
