FRANK WASYLISHEN Please Note: Friday Visitation Cancelled Peacefully on June 6, 2009 surrounded by his family, Frank left us. To cherish his memory is his wife Bernice of 60 years, daughters Judy (Peter), Janice (Kelly) Darlene, Nancy (Wayne), Peggy, Penny (Dean) grandchildren Jessica (Ryan), Elliot, Bronson and many relatives, friends and neighbours. Frank was born in Dominion City on January 8, 1924 and lived on a farm near Tolstoi with his parents Gabriel and Olena, sisters Anne and Josephine and brother Bill, who have all predeceased him. When Frank was 14 his parents purchased the farm east of Oakbank and in 1961 Mom and Dad purchased it from his parents, where they raised their six daughters. Dad served as a councilor with the RM of Springfield for 26 years. He enjoyed spending time tinkering in the yard and repairing and selling cars. He also had a talent for fixing almost anything - family, friends and neighbours would bring items and vehicles for repairs. His talent with the items he had invented, repaired or altered could be spotted around the farm. We would like to thank Mom and Dad's many wonderful neighbours and friends for all of their help and concern over the last few years. Special thanks to Penny and Dean for opening up their home to Mom and Dad in making the transition of leaving the farm easier. Also, many thanks to the 5th floor staff at Poseidon Care Centre. Dad is back on his beloved farm tinkering, laughing and reminiscing with Bill, Jerry, Tony and Brownie. The celebration of Dad's life will be Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with reception following at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Winnipeg. Interment at Sunnyside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dad's name to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB. R3L 0K6 or the Poseidon Care Centre, 70 Poseidon Bay, Winnipeg, R3M 3E5. Dad - We heard they are serving hot dogs and Pepsi in Heaven.
