Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE WHALEN (nee LEVESQUE) Alice Whalen / Gair (nee Levesque) with family at her side, Alice passed away at Sunnybrooke Hospital in Toronto on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the age of 77. Alice is lovingly remembered by her husband Gordon Whalen, brother Armand (Patrica) Levesque, her children, Linda, Alexis, Dianna, Alan, Alice, Katherine, Kim, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Theodore Levesque, her mother Martha Papp, stepfather Frank Papp, her brothers Armel and Lionel, her son Robert and granddaughter Christina. Alice enjoyed sitting on the patio at the trailer and always tried to name all the different types of birds that landed in the trees around her. Alice enjoyed dancing and listening to music, her favourite singer was Elvis Presley. Alice enjoyed being with her family, and took great pride in her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially the little ones. Alice just loved to hug and kiss them all. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto for all their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. Viewing will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. also at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, with reception to follow. You were my best friend Alice and I will miss you so very much. My heart hurts as I've lost my closest friend. We shared a lot of good times and close talks with each other. I have memories to hold onto for the rest of my life with you. I will never ever forget you Alice. You will be in my heart forever. I love you always as a friend.
