CLEMENS ADAM BERNHARDT On Tuesday, June 9, 2009 Clem died peacefully at home, with his family at his side. He was 84 years young. Clem will be sadly missed by his daughters Patricia, Catherine, Elaine, (Brian), and Margaret (Jaye); his grandchildren Joey, Cathleen, Jordan, Evan, Tracey, Michael, Laura, Bobby and James; great grandchildren Eric and Mathieu and many relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by Trudy, his loving wife of 55 years in 2004. Having led a distinguished career in the Armed Forces from 1943 to 1980, Clem retired as a Chief Warrant Officer and then spent 10 more years working for the Department of National Defense. After retirement, he especially enjoyed the winters he spent at Sebring with Trudy and their many friends. Clem loved gardening, bicycling and bird watching. He will be missed for his quick wit, integrity, sense of humor, and unassuming nature. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd., with Rev. Fr. Barry Schoonbaert, presiding. Inurnment will take place on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. The family would like to thank CancerCare staff; Dr. Daeninck and staff (Tracey), Dr. Weins and staff; Homecare Services and Rev. Fr. Barry Schoonbaert for the wonderful care, compassion and support shown to Clem and all of us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare, Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
