MARJORIE DOREEN MCCONKEY (nee NORRMAN) Marjorie Doreen McConkey passed away at St. Boniface General Hospital on June 8, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband Leslie Robert James McConkey. Doreen will be sadly missed by her son Neil of Winnipeg, her sister Doris (Oscar) Boivin of Vancouver Island, her brother Carl (Donna) Norrman of Lac du Bonnet and many other relatives. Viewing will take place at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street, on Tuesday, June 16 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, 930 Pandora Avenue West, Transcona, with Marvin Groham officiating. Special thanks to the medical staff on 3B at St. Boniface General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 (ph 787-4143). Niel - We know that your mom is in a better place now - with no more suffering. She can listen to the birds singing with no pain. I really believe that we will see her again.
