Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) BENJAMIN RUPPEL April 4, 1918 - June 8, 2009 It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather at the age of 91 years at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre, with his loving daughter, Darlene, at his bedside. Bill grew up in the north end of Winnipeg where he met the love of his life, Lydia (Lil). Together they raised their devoted son, Larry (Linda) and their daughter, Darlene (Jim). Our six precious grandchildren are his Honorary Pallbearers - Lyle, Jared (Christine), Christopher (Marie), Tyler (Erin), Courtney (Mike) and Chelsea (Chris). Bill was also survived by his two sisters, Lorraine and Dorothy (Stan). He was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna Ruppel and his three brothers, John, Art and Gus. Bill was a life member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church until they closed their doors. He sang in the choir, was a Sunday School Teacher, and was President of the Council. He served in the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War, and upon his return, entered the grocery business, a career lasting 40 years. Bill and Lil recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. His passion was his family. The family would like to thank the staff of the Kildonan Personal Care Centre for the loving and caring attention they gave our Dad and also for their understanding and compassion at this difficult time. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Just think of him as living In the hearts of those he touched For nothing loved is ever lost And he was loved so much We're going to miss you, Dad. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
