Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHEILA MARY TAYLOR (nee JAGGER) A beautiful woman, wonderful Wife, exceptional Mother, Mother-in-Law, and Nanny sadly left us on May 21, 2009. Sheila joined the WAAF (women's section of the RAF) at the age of 18 and experienced the realities of war in the area around London. Following a brief wartime romance she married Albert in 1944 and with her adventurous nature was eager to move to Canada in 1946. She quickly adapted to life as a Canadian. As a skilful and loving mother she provided such a happy and progressive environment for her family. Her pleasant personality and sense of humour endeared her to many friends. How she loved to dance! Sheila also enjoyed the social activities of golf, curling, bowling and bridge. She was an active member of the Assiniboine Golf Club for nearly 40 seasons and keenly met the competitive challenge to improve her handicap. The thrill of travel excited her with trips to UK, Portugal, Holland, Germany and Hawaii. A favourite golfing destination during the winter months was Texas where many new friendships were developed. Sheila was born in Winchester, England on February 2nd, 1924. She is survived there by a sister, Monica, a brother Ronald and many nieces and nephews. Mourning her loss here are husband, Albert, daughter Beverley Bristow (John), sons Robert (Carol), Malcolm (Mavis), Michael (Cindi), 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In March, Albert and Sheila celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with family members in Mexico. Thank you to the staff at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion. On June 20 at 12:30 p.m. a celebration of her life will take place at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Rehabilitation Centre for Children Foundation (633 Wellington Cresc. R3M 0A8) or a charity of your choice. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
