STEPHENIE POPIEL Quietly, as she lived, Mrs. Stephenie (Taffy) Popiel (nee Puhalski) died in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 8, 2009. Predeceased by her daughter Mary Joan, beloved husband Walter Steven Popiel, great- niece Sarah, sisters Joanne and Carol, and brothers Lloyd and Emil. She leaves to mourn and miss her, daughter Carol Ann Popiel, granddaughter Christina Yvonne Popiel, and grandson Peter Stephen Kelly Popiel. She also leaves to mourn her niece Grace Randa of Calgary, Alberta, and her nephews Barton Puhalski, Lloyd Puhalski, Bruce Puhalski, Greg Puhalski and Jim Puhalski of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Gerry Puhalski of Winnipeg, as well as James Logan and Gerry Logan of southern Ontario and niece Mary of southern Ontario. Mrs. Popiel worked at Bowater Paper Company in Dryden, Ontario for 36 years without complaint, and had a nice long retirement in Winnipeg. She especially enjoyed her home, family and friends. Anyone who was the recipient of one of her care packages knew what thoughtfulness and love were all about. Her dignity and generosity will remain in our hearts always.
