SUBRAHMANIAM KOCHERLAKOTA Died June 9, 2009 at his home in South Burlington, Vermont, of heart failure. He was born in 1935 in Bangalore, India and educated at Banaras Hindu University, then immigra ted to the United States, where he received an Sc.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1964. He served as Professor of Statistics at the University of Manitoba for 34 years until his retirement in 2000. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his son Narayana and daughter-in-law Barbara of Golden Valley, MN; his son Rama, daughter-in-law Jeanne and granddaughters, Annapurna and Eileen of Burlington, VT; his brother Sundar; his sister Seetha and brother-in-law C.M. Rao; his sister Meenakshi; his brother K.R. Rao and sister-in-law Indira.
