Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN DORIS FRENCH It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Jean Doris French, on June 12, 2009 at Grace Hospital. Jean is survived by her children Shirley (Garry), Patti (Ken), Marilyn (Denis), and Randy (Laura); grandchildren Kristy (Tim), Chelsea, Ben, Ali (Rod), and Michael; and siblings, twin brother Jim (Sharon), Isabel and Eileen (Rod). Jean was predeceased by her loving husband Cecil James in 1996. Jean was born in Souris, Manitoba on May 30, 1927, one of seven children born to James and Doris Murphy. Mom spent many wonderful and giving years raising her family and working outside the home, supporting all our most memorable and important family times. Later on, Mom and Dad retired to Gimli, Manitoba where they spent many happy years in the company of good friends. They also spent several winters in Palm Springs. Whether golfing, curling, bowling, knitting or sewing, Jean spent her time with family and friends, sharing her witty sense of humour. She always surrounded herself with a family pet, usually a stray brought home by one of her children. Her generous spirit led her to volunteer for the MSOS Games, Pan Am Games, and Meals on Wheels, to name a few. She was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, supporting their fundraising activities, like the meat draws, where she always looked forward to meeting up with friends. Watching Mom and Dad on the dance floor was always a joy to behold, and their home was always filled with love and music. She will be forever remembered and loved by her family - and missed even more. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
