ADAM HUCHKO January 23, 1928 - June 12, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Adam Huchko. Adam was predeceased by his parents Walter and Pearl; brother Gerry and nephew Greg. He is survived by his loving wife Jennie; son Bruce (Lori); daughter Cathy (Ken Renaud); grandchildren Carlyn, Jonathan, Matthew; brother-in-law Mike Rogaski (Mary), niece Mary-Anne (Tim Kennedy) and family; nephew Peter Rogaski (Pat) and family and other extended family members. Adam realized his life's calling by graduating from the U of M, Faculty of Pharmacy in 1954. He achieved his dream of having a pharmacy by becoming the owner of Brown's Drugs on Henderson Hwy. He married Jennie Rogaski in 1955 and was blessed with 54 years of marriage to the love of his life. Adam was a lifetime member of Holy Eucharist Church. He was a member of BUC and SOUP. He was a 47 year member of the Knights of Columbus and Charter Member of the Holy Eucharist Council. Adam and Jennie were able to take many special trips. Among Adam's favourites, was their trip to Switzerland. Adam loved nature and enjoyed spending time at the cottage. He also enjoyed the fellowship in the various organizations to which he belonged and was a good perogy ball maker. The most important thing to Adam was his strong faith and love for his family. He was a kind, generous, loving husband, father, gigi and uncle. We will always love him. The family wishes to thank the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, Concordia Hospital Emergency Ward staff, Chaplain Gerhard Friesen, neighbours and friends for their kind words and expressions of sympathy. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18 and Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday June 19, 2009. Both will be held at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 505 Watt St., Winnipeg with Very Rev. Fr. D. LeClair officiating. Pallbearers will be Bruce Huchko, Ken Renaud, Peter Rogaski, Tim Kennedy, Ed Harrison and Peter Prociuk. Service will terminate at the Church with cremation to follow. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a children's charity of your choice.
