Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLARA IRENE OWEN We are sad to announce the passing of Clara Irene Owen on June 14, 2009 after a short courageous battle with cancer. Clara will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Melody, Cheryl (Jason) and Terri and one son Tony (Jane); her five grandchildren Kelly-Ann (Tony), Anthony, Robbie, Tyler and Sean; brothers and sisters, Marion (Art) Phyliss (Donny), Archer (Betty), Nellie, Glenis (Loren), Rhoda, Stewart (Carmen), Doug (Lynn) and Fern (Marcel) and many, many nieces and nephews. As well Clara was blessed with many good friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ed Owen, mother and father Glen and Doris Garrioch, brothers Alec and Gilmore brother-in-law Phil and nephew Ryan. Clara was born and raised in Bluff Creek, Manitoba September 8, 1942, later moving to Portage La Prairie in her early teens then moving on to Winnipeg. Soon to settle in British Columbia where she met her husband of 30 years and started her family. Many years later moving back yet again to Winnipeg were she remained till eternity. Clara believed in living a simple life of helping others as best as she could. She offered hospitality and personal warmth to everyone who came into her home. She was a strong, honest, loyal person who valued friends and neighbours. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her family at the cabin. The family sends heartfelt thanks to the family and friends who have called and visited at this difficult time. Celebration of Clara's life will be held on Friday, June 19 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Riverview Palliative Care Unit. The Suffering is over, The Pain is gone away, We watched God take you from us Not knowing what to say.
