JOSEPH A. CHAMPAGNE March 14, 1928 - June 13, 2009 Surrounded by his family, Joseph peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 81 years. Joe will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend Doreen. Joe will be missed forever by all of his children, Kevin (Louise), Peter Brent (Colleen), Kim (Bob Wynnobel), Dean and his many grandchildren and his great granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents, Alphonse and Francesca; his brothers, Gustave, Roland and Lucien; and his sisters, Simone Asselin, Florence Asselin, Béatrice Girouard, Irene Lagace, and Lucille Champagne. Joe is survived by his brother Alfred, and sisters Denise Normandau, and Claire Bohemier. Joe grew up and attended school in St. Norbert. He retired in 1988 from the St. Boniface School Division. He will be best remembered for his love of flying and airplanes. Joe enjoyed his retirement by flying, fishing, snowmobiling, riding his Quad and being with family and friends. We would like to extend our thanks to the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to make a donation in memory of Joe Champagne to the St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation. Service to be held at Christ the King, 847 St. Mary's Road at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009.
