Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY FRASER On Monday, June 15, 2009, we lost a classy man and a wonderful father and grandfather, Roy Fraser. He passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 85 years. Remaining to cherish his memory are his children; Jeff (Montreal), Debbie (Victoria) and Donnie (Winnipeg), his grandchildren; Stephanie, Danielle, Bryan and Samantha, and many friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his always loving wife Lila, father, mother, four brothers and two sisters. Roy was born on September 18, 1923 in North Bay, Ontario. He enlisted with the Canadian Army in 1942, serving in Canada and Europe before his release in 1946. In 1950, Roy joined the RCAF and while stationed in Vancouver, BC, met and married Lila May Macaulay, in 1953. Roy shared 52 wonderful years with this beautiful lady before her passing in 2005. Together they raised two sons and a daughter and were very proud of these children and later the grandchildren. After his release from the RCAF, Roy worked for DND until he retired in 1986 and spent the next 14 winters in Texas learning Western Dancing and enjoying the warm climate with Lila. Summers they remained in Winnipeg. With Lila's passing, Roy lived with his youngest son Donnie in Winnipeg which he enjoyed very much. To escape the Winnipeg winters, he vacationed with his daughter Debbie in Victoria a few months every year. A Celebration of Roy s life will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Roy's memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. They that love beyond the world Cannot be separated by it. Death is but crossing the world, As friends do the seas; They live in one another still. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
