ANDRE CHAMPAGNE Passed away with his loving wife and companion of 25 years, Claudette, and his loving daughter Shannon, by his side at the Northern Spirit Manor on June 16, 2009, at the age of 74 years. Friends may call on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the Boardman / Northland Funeral Home, 28 Nelson Road between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday June 22, at 4:00 p.m. in the St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 114 Cree Road with Fr. Eugene Whyte officiating. He was born September 29, 1934 to Raphaël and Dorilla (Trudeau) Champagne in St. Norbert, Manitoba. He graduated from St. Norbert School before joining the Canadian Navy. André enjoyed all his occupations but especially his work at CN and at the AFM. For the last 30 years he spent time as a volunteer making a tremendous difference in people's lives, putting his counselling skills to good use. André loved the outdoors and traveling to new places. He always had time to admire a sunset or listen to the birds. André was a loving father to his children Dennis (Connie), Jeff (Jessica) and Shannon (Greg) all residents of Manitoba, who all will miss him dearly. His five grandchildren, Axel, Riley, Reid, Jaelan and Hailey were a source of pride and joy to him. He is predeceased by his father Raphaël and his mother Dorilla, as well as his siblings Hervé, Marius, Thérèse, Cécile, Jean, Louis and Alcide. He leaves his two sisters, Hélène (Roger), Juliette (Brian) and his three brothers David, Jules and Paul (Laurette) to mourn him. Many nieces and nephews will miss Mon Oncle André. Flowers greatly appreciated but if friends so desire donations maybe made in André's memory to the Northern Spirit Manor, 879 Thompson Drive South, Thompson, Manitoba.
