VERNIECE MARY VOURIOT (nee VENNE) Peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 Verniece Vouriot passed away at the St. Adolphe Personal Care Home at the age of 92 years. Remaining to forever cherish Verniece's memory are her sister May in Estevan; son Vernon in Ottawa; granddaughters Melody, Harmony and Symphony in British Columbia as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Donald; husband Honoré; sisters Olivia and Jean and daughter Delann in 2007. Verniece was born on July 11, 1916 in Bengough, Saskatchewan and worked for Canada Safeway in Fort Garry for over 33 years. She loved to travel and made several trips to Europe and took several cruises. Verniece gave tireless hours as a volunteer at Victoria General Hospital as well as St. Vital Parish. Prayers will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., also in the Church with Rev. Fr. Patrick Morand, presiding. Interment will follow in the St. Vital Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery, 826 Crescent Drive. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to Mass. Thank you to the staff at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home and the Misericordia Home for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Verniece's name to the Victoria General Hospital Building Fund, 2340 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 2E8.
