Date of Passing: Jun 18, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK OSIOWAY August 10, 1920 - June 18, 2009 After a lengthy battle with cancer, Frank passed away peacefully at the Arborg District Health Centre with family by his side. Frank leaves behind his wife Mary, children Gordon (Wendy), Carl (Debra), Joyce; grandchildren Dawnett (Brian), Ross (Katharine), Aaron (April), Amanda, Kris, Jenell (Nathan), Tracey (Quinton), one great-grandchild Isaac Avery, foster grandchildren Mandy and Jock; sister Victoria (Andy) of Kenora; and many nieces and nephews. As a young man Frank travelled west handling horse teams for farmers at harvest time. He helped his father build neighbourhood houses and barns, also repairing many old buildings. During this time he was also farming for himself. Of all his aspirations he preferred farming and never really considered retiring as he loved to work the land and raise cattle. He did not give up his passion for farming, dabbling in it until January of this year. He'll be sadly missed by his family and friends. At Frank's request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church in Arborg on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Raj Savarimuthu officiating. Interment to follow at St. Philip Neri Cemetery. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Arborg District Health Centre. Also special thanks to Clara Smith for her thoughtfulness and caring ways. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Frank's memory to Arborg District Health Centre, Box 10, Arborg, MB, R0C 0A0 Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
