ALBERT JOSEPH CHARTRAND It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dearest husband, dad, grandpa Papa , son, brother, uncle and dear friend, Albert Chartrand, aged 61 years, of Selkirk, MB, on June 17, 2009 at the Selkirk General Hospital. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife and best friend Sharon; children Michael (Wendy), Sheri Lynn (Ryan) and special son-in-law Murray, Lori Anne (Vern) and Robert; grandchildren Justin, Dexter, Brayden, Amber and Elizabeth; also grandchildren Jessica and Shyanne; mother Harriet; sisters Rose (Jim), Thelma, Doris (Mike), Alice (Don), Margaret (Arthur) and Lillian (Mark); his close and cherished friends Ed Smith, Scott Petrowski and Robert Bear. Albert predeceased by his father Louis in 1981. On April 2, 1948 Albert was born in Eriksdale, MB where he spent his time working with his dad and helping his family as he was the only son. He later moved to Winnipeg, MB where he worked as a dedicated construction worker. Albert met his true love, Sharon in Riverton, MB on her 18th birthday and later married December 6, 1974. They had two children together and later moved to Selkirk, MB where they established a life and home. Albert had such a love for life with his humour and laughter that carried him through his difficult times of cancer and colon surgeries. He will be missed most for his nonjudgmental ways and for his strength and courage. Albert is in a safe place with the Lord whom he was always true to, he has stamped a place in all our hearts and he will never be forgotten. Rest in peace dad , we love you. Viewing will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB, with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Ray Settee officiating. Cremation will follow. The family would like to thank the staff and the Selkirk General Hospital for their care and compassion, especially Dr. Fuchs and Joanie Burziuk.
