WASYL WILLIAM (BILL) ANDREYCHUK December 15, 1936 - June 17, 2009 After a courageous battle with cancer, Bill passed away June 17, 2009 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, with his family at his side. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Barbara, daughter Amanda (fiancé Paul),and Amanda's mother Wilma, sister Elsie (Eugene) and brother Peter (Joan) and his three stepchildren Marni (Mark), Traci, Jim (Liz) and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Bill was born on the family homestead in Caliento MB, and was the oldest of four siblings. He helped his mom farm while his father was away working. Bill worked at the General Hospital for many years, then for Motorways as a truck driver and retired from there. He had been nicknamed Savage during his adolescent years for his free spirit and it carried on to his baseball career. He played on two baseball teams, Vita Cubs, and then the Vita Mallards. He was honored in 2007 by being inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame. Bill was an avid gun collector, and loved clocks and antiques. He had a great sense of humour and made friends very easily. Sadly he missed the arrival of his first grandchild due in July and the marriage of his only daughter Amanda. Bill will be greatly missed by all those who love him. Barb would like to express her gratitude to all the nurses, family, especially her daughters Marni and Traci and Bill's sister Elsie (Eugene), friends, and neighbours for their love and support during this sad time. A special thank you to Dr. Andrew Maksymiuk for his kind and compassionate care. Bill has been cremated according to his wishes. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Dad, we had hard times but we still enjoyed each other's company and had many good laughs of our own things that where just between you and me. I miss you, you where a good person in your own way. I hope you are in a good place and at peace with your life and decisions. We all make mistakes dad, we sure do. I forgive you and will always remember you. I wish we could have told each other that we loved one another so many more times... I will see you again one day. No one but you and me understood our relationship for it was complicated but very meaningful. Dad I love. I know life was not easy but you made it...Always remember you. - Posted by: Amanda Stewart (daughter) on: Nov 20, 2012
