Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAY WACH Peacefully Kay Wach passed away on June 16, 2009 at Holy Family Home in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents Ahafia and George Wach; sisters Mary, Nell, Ann and Elsie and brothers Harry and Peter. Kay is survived by her sister-in-law Kathryn (London, ON) and Anne (Winnipeg, MB) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Kay was born in Winnipeg on November 1, 1918 and lived in East Kildonan until she entered Holy Family Home in 2005. During her childhood Kay attended Lord Wolseley School, graduated and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of Manitoba in 1958. She worked for the Canadian Brewing and Malting Institute in Winnipeg until 1972 and then had a career in real estate until she retired. Family, sports, church and travel were Kay's main interests. And she could knit up a storm. Her many nieces and nephews likely will remember Aunty Kay's favourite saying when someone asked how she was doing; she would reply Anyone I can and the good ones twice. Golfing and football were major summer activities in Kay's life. She was a long time member of the Transcona Golf Club and had a very low handicap. During the winter Kay curled and bowled. Kay was a lifelong member of the Holy Eucharist Parish in East Kildonan and with sisters Ann and Nell she enjoyed singing Liturgy, caroling, and singing in many choirs usually in Ukrainian. Kay was a member of several organizations and a proud supporter of her favorite charities. She was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League at Holy Eucharist for over 50 years and a member of the Holy Family Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered willingly when needed. The family would like to thank all the pastoral care workers, staff and volunteers at Holy Family Home especially the St. Paul unit. Kay enjoyed her stay at the nursing home and was busy singing at Monday's sing song the day before she died. Parastas / prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church at Watt and Munroe. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 22 also at the Church with very Rev. Fr. D. LeClair officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Nieces and nephews will be pallbearers. If you so desire, make a donation in Kay's name to your favourite charity. Rest in Peace Vichnaya Pamyat. Eternal Memory. Korban Funeral Chapel 956-2193
