LYDIA BUSS (nee HASTMAN) We mourn the loss of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. On Friday, June 19, 2009, Lydia Buss, aged 94 years, one month before her 95th birthday, passed away peacefully at the Beausejour Hospital. She was born in Golden Bay on July 19, 1914. Leaving to cherish her memory are Eileen (Gordon) Merke, Joyce (Gordon) Klepatz, Oscar (Merri) Buss, Agnes (George) Mandzuk, Emily (Don) Roguski, Lawrence Buss, Shirley (Bob) Wasyluk, Wilfred Buss, Darlene (Glenn) Keilback, Carol (Allan) Briese, Sharon (Larry) Goritz, Betty (Leonard) Goritz, daughter-in-law Elfrieda Buss, 29 grandchildren 28 great-grandchildren; her surviving sisters Ruth and Edna (Arthur), brothers Edward (Irene) and Leo (Gertrude), sister-in-law Anna Buss, also many nieces nephews, and friends. Mom was predeceased by her husband William in 1996, her son Herman in 2002, 1 great-granddaughter Akazia Lothian, her parents August and Augustine Hastman, siblings Alex, Arnold, Edith, Elsie, Wanda and Charlie. Mom married William in May 1935. They farmed in Golden Bay until 1953, then moving to farm in Whitemouth. In 1980, they retired to Beausejour. Mom was very loving, kind, caring and generous. Her family was her life and love. Mom had a heart of gold. In her younger years, she always had a lovely big garden every year. She loved cooking, baking, knitting, etc. She made wool blankets for all her family. What an inspiration Mom has been to all of us. She blessed our lives in so many ways. God Bless Her. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Gertrude Avenue, Beausejour. Friends may view prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Beausejour Town cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Beausejour Hospital TV Fund, The Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or a charity of one's choice. The family would like to extend many thanks to the wonderful staff at Stony Plains and Dr. Schmidt and hospital staff for the excellent care they have given to our Mom. MOTHER A wonderful mother is being laid to rest, In our hearts you were the best. You shared our hopes, our joys, our tears Thank you Mother, (Grandmother and Great-grandmother) For all the years. You can only have one mother Loving, kind and true. You were always there when we needed you No task too great or too small With a loving heart and a willing hand For us you did them all.
