SYLVIA CYBULIAK (nee YACENTIUK) 1939 2009 Peacefully, Thursday, June 18, 2009, our beloved mother aunty and friend, Sylvia, at the age of 70 years, passed away with her son by her side, at the Health Sciences Centre. Sylvia was born in Dauphin, MB, on April 28, 1939. She was predeceased by her parents Steve and Yustyna; husband Mickey; sisters Mary, Helen, Carole, Adele and brother Stan. She leaves to mourn her son Michael; sisters Jean, Natalie, Ollie, Ann, Sandra and Dianne, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Sylvia was raised on the family farm in Pine River, MB with her parents, 11 sisters and one brother. Sylvia moved to Selkirk in 1958 where she received her certificate as a nursing aide at the Selkirk Mental Hospital. She was married to Mike in Pine River on September 26, 1959. Family and friends were the most important thing to Sylvia. Her door was always open day or night. She loved her garden, weekends golfing at Victoria Beach with her friend Cookie. She enjoyed selling flowers in the summer time. She was also involved in the community, volunteering at the world class events held in Selkirk. Respecting Sylvia's wishes cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family interment will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre for their care of Sylvia during her difficult times. In lieu of flowers donations in Sylvia's name may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Inc. or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
