PALMA ELIZABETH NAGY Believing and trusting in God's love and everlasting life, Palma passed away June 19, 2009 in Oakview Place. She was predeceased by her father Rev. Istaven Nagy, mother, two sisters and two brothers. Palma was born in Debrecen, Hungary. She fled Hungary with sister Katrina before Soviet occupation and arrived to Canada in 1948. She was employed by the Hungarian newspaper as a secretary and editor for thirty years. Palma was very active in the Hungarian Reformed Church and generously supported the church financially. Palma was the church organist and Sunday School teacher for 55 years. She will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews and their families in Hungary, Germany and Holland as well as her numerous friends in Canada, USA and Europe. A special thank you to Jeno and Jolan Kosari, Paul and Katie Hofer, Palma's dear friends as well as the Grace Hospital 3rd floor South Station staff and 5th floor North Station staff, and Oakview Place 5th floor Canary Lane staff for their kindness and compassion. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Thomson Funeral Home. The service will be held in Hungarian and English. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Palma's memory to Hungarian Reformed Church, 5918 Betsworth Ave., Winnipeg, R3R 0J7 or to a charity of one's choice.
