ANNE BARRON Anne Barron (nee Valka) passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 83 years. Predeceased by her parents Olga (nee Natyna) and Josef Valka, brother Joseph Valka, sister Mary and numerous in-laws and other relatives. Survived by her husband (Ed), son Ken and daughter Deborah (Ross). Grandchildren and great grandchildren Adam, Brady, Cassidy, Auguste, Natascha (Vincent) and their sons Sasha and Tavery; Porscha (Kris) and their daughters Jasmine and Raven. As well, she is survived by three sisters, Emily Kazil, Betty Mitchell and Julie Hodge and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Fraserwood, Manitoba, June 14, 1924. A family celebration was held at the hospital on her 83rd birthday. She only retired from keeping books and doing payroll a few weeks ago. She told us to do math and read everyday because as her father told her, knowledge is something that nobody can take away from you and it was important to keep your brain and memory active and sharp. She was married August 30, 1947 to Joseph Auguste Ademar Barron (Ed). They shared just short of 62 years of their lives together. As Dad says it ...she was his little wife and sweetie who was so smart and beautiful. He says he doesn't know what he will do without her, he loved so much and she was his life. She was an incredibly strong willed person who passionately loved life, her family and to laugh and garden and cook. She was greatly loved and Mom to many because she was so generous with her love, time and cooking. As such, she will be greatly missed but never forgotten by many. Church Memorial Service was held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Boulevard. Celebration of Life, Interment and Reception to be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Our family would also like to thank everyone including all of the homecare and palliative health care people who were so kind and helpful to her over her lifetime. Flowers graciously declined. Donations can be made to the ALS Society for research or another charity of your choice. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
