Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJJOHN (RALPH) RUSSELL ZELINSKY July 5, 1937 June 24, 2009 It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather after a lengthy battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his home with his family at his side. Ralph leaves to mourn his wife of 50 years Pat; sons Edward, Dustin and Russell and granddaughter Stephanie; also his brothers Joe (Carol) and Robert; sisters-in-law Beverly, Verna, and Cassie as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son David and daughter Shauna; his sister Annie Perfanick and brothers Metro, Steve, Mike, Nick and Bill. Ralph was employed with CNR for 40 years as a crane operator before retiring. He was a skilled mechanic and was always only too willing to drop his own work to help others whether it was mechanical, carpentry, roofing nothing was a stumbling block for him. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Ralph firmly believed God's promise of a paradise that will put an end to the suffering of sickness and death, and he enjoyed sharing his hope with others. Psalms 37:11 gave Ralph strong conviction on the earth, and he took particular delight in teaching others to love Jehovah God. Ralph touched the hearts and lives of all he met. The family would like to thank the Seven Oaks Hospital Palliative Care and home care nurses that gave the family much assistance as well as Dr. Hechtenthall, Dr. Foyote and Dr. Korol. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall Center of Jehovah's Witnesses, 227 Lakewood Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
