ALMA ETHEL OLMSTEAD With love and fondest memories we wish to announce the passing of Alma Olmstead (nee Johnson), beloved Mother and Nana. Alma passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the age of 82 years. Remaining to forever cherish Alma's memory are Georgina (Garry), Karen (Rob) and Donna (Robb) and grandchildren Rebecca and Sam, Conner and Arden, Jessica, Courtney, Brad and Ally. She was predeceased by husband George in 2007. Mom missed tending her garden at the lake and at home, but enjoyed her new life and new friends at Sturgeon Creek II Retirement Residence. Our Mom was a true survivor, overcoming many health issues with a positive attitude and dignity. In compliance with Alma's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care team especially Jadwiga and Jennifer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Mom asked for this poem to be included: The tide recedes, but leaves behind bright seashells in the sand. The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land. The music stops, and yet it echoes on in sweet refrain...
