ALAN GAFFNEY Suddenly on June 23, 2009, Alan passed away in his home. He leaves behind his wife Gail, sisters Norma Kilmury (Lloyd), Beth Anderson (Lynn), Aunt Lena Maher, cousin Colin Maher, and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ethel and Scotty Gaffney, grandma Mabel Wilkie, in-laws Helen and Jim Foster, and his uncles Sonny Wilkie and Earl Maher. After graduating with a mechanics degree in Brandon, Alan worked for Grey Goose Bus Lines for many years. Later on he then worked for Building Products and Concrete Supply. One of the things that Alan loved to do was work on vehicles. His talent as a mechanic was well known, if there was something wrong with a motor he fixed it with no hesitation finding the problem. Alan was a country boy at heart and whenever he could, travelled there to spend as much time as possible. No wonder his favourite music was country and western. Alan's wardrobe usually consisted of cowboy boots and hat, with denim jeans. Because of his love of the country Alan's final resting place will be beside his parents in Wawanesa. A private family memorial service with interment will be held in Wawanesa at a later date. Be at peace my friend, no one is more deserving. If one is measured by the things they do for people in life you always came through for everyone. We will miss your kind soul. Cremation has taken place. A small lunch in Alan's honour will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Donations may also be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
