Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS HENRY SHAKESPEARE On Friday, June 19, 2009, at the age of 94, Tom passed away peacefully at Concordia Place. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Ethel Shakespeare and his sister Ruth. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Bill (Doreen), nephew David (Bonnie) niece Susan (Tim), great-nephews Justin (Sarah), Tristan and great-nieces, Shannon and Holly. Tom was born May 19, 1915 in Clandeboye, MB. His family moved to Pinawa where he spent his early childhood and then to Transcona where he resided until moving to Concordia Place in 2005. During the Second World War Tom worked at munitions plants in Quebec and Ontario. He then worked at the Transcona Post Office and Domtar until his retirement. Tom's love of nature and the outdoors was influenced by his early years in Clandeboye and Pinawa. From a young age he was athletically adept, played hockey and was a fan of all sports. Tom always remained physically fit and could be seen walking or riding his bicycle throughout Transcona well into his eighties. During his retirement years Tom enjoyed driving trips to many of Manitoba's Provincial parks and visiting the rural areas of his past. At Tom's request, a private family service will be held on Monday, July 20 at Transcona Cemetery. Special thank you to the staff at Concordia Place for their loving care during his stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB.
