MICHAEL RAPAWAY September 15, 1933 - June 24, 2009 Michael passed peacefully on June 24, 2009 with his wife Theresa of 36 years by his side. He had a long brave battle with cancer. Michael is survived by his loving wife Theresa, sisters, Annie and Mary Futros, brother-in-law Steve and nephews, Ron and Bob Futros, who will be acting as pallbearers. Michael was predeceased by two brothers, John and Steve Rapaway. Michael worked for the CNR for many years as an electrician. Until his illness he had enjoyed curling. Prayers will be held on on Wednesday, July 1, at 7:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue, West. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph The Worker Parish 505 Brewster Street. Father Jan Spyrka officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. Theresa would like to thank the Home Care Health Workers, Eleanor, Audra, Sarah, Donna, Bella, et al, for their compassionate care over the past year. I also wish to thank the Palliative Care nurses, Olga, Richard, and Chris, also the Palliative Care team at the Riverview Health Centre for ensuring Michael a peaceful passing.
