MARCELINA GUPTA (nee SALANIO) Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, Marcy passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at St. Boniface Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Vishno, children Veena (Steven), Neal (Theressa), Sean (Katie), and grandchildren Mikayla and Christian. Marcy was born in Ilo ilo, Philippines on May 18, 1944. After graduating from nursing school in the Philippines, she along with several close friends and fellow graduates came to Canada in 1967. In 1971, she met and married the love of her life, Vishno. She took early retirement in 1999 from St. Boniface Hospital where she worked as an RN, CRN and a head nurse in the Dialysis Unit. She enjoyed working in Dialysis and continued to work during retirement on a casual basis. She touched many lives and treasured the time she spent with her friends. Each winter she looked forward to spending two months under the Hawaiian sun with her husband. Her health deteriorated rapidly in the last three years but her faith in God never wavered. She accepted each medical setback as a challenge and bravely fought what came her way until the Lord called her home. All through her illness she continued to pour her life into her family, being a grandmother was her greatest joy. We love you Mom, you will be missed as deeply as you are loved. We know that we will see you again in Heaven. Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Pentecostal Church, 955 Wilkes Avenue. Winnipeg, MB.
