Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCELYN MARY (JOY) MACDONALD May 31, 1944 June 28, 2009 With deep love and treasured memories we announce the courageous passing of our beloved sister, aunt and great aunt Joycelyn MacDonald, at the Portage District General Hospital, on Sunday, June 28, 2009, surrounded by her family. Prayers and visitation will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Friday evening, July 3, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Deacon Bill Parrack officiating. Interment will follow at Ossawa Cemetery. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard (1952), Christina (2007), her stepfather Walter Bremner (1996), twin brothers, Kenneth and Keith (1942) and nephew Hayden Moffit (2008). Her memory will forever be cherished by her brothers Donald (Zennovia) MacDonald, Stonewall, MB, Gordon (Annette) MacDonald, Marquette, MB, sister, Catherine (Jim) Moffit, Oakville, MB, much loved nieces and nephews; James (Janna), Brett, Maddison and Cassidy, Daniel (Christina), Jessie and Braydon; Valerie- Sheena, Allan, Joseph (Melanie), Haley and Alysia, Tracy, Quinton and Sylar, Sonia (Kyle), Jamie and Ben, Bill (Rochelle), Makayla, Samantha and Alexander, Jimmie (Chantelle), Alexa, Talya and Casey and many cousins and friends. Joycelyn was born in Alexandria, ON and moved to Marquette, MB at a young age. After her high school graduation she began a lengthy career as a secretary and office manager, working at McMillan Bloedel in Winnipeg, MB and New Westminister, BC and at Lucerne Foods, Ice Cream Division, Winnipeg, MB until she was forced into early retirement by Crohn's Disease and Arthritis. Her retirement was spent at her homes in (Barnsley), Carman, MB, Southport, MB and finally in MacGregor, MB. Joy had a deep love for animals, especially her cats Jennie, Tinkie and Honey and her dog Telsa, becoming a staunch supporter of pet shelters and pet adoption organizations. She was very community minded and was involved in numerous charitable organizations. Joy also loved to travel and visit with people becoming a loyal friend to many, but her greatest loyalty was to her family. Her nieces and nephews were all treated with special love and attention. They will miss her greatly. I was deeply saddened to learn of Joy's passing. She was a vibrant, caring person and it was my good fortune to work with her for many years at Lucerne. I have many fond memories. God Love Joycelyn, and may she find her cats and dogs in Paradise, and also dear old Queen, the horse we bought from you way back in 1954.
