Anne was born on November 26, 1911 in Ladywood, MB; the second oldest of 10 children, born to John and Tekla Barski. In 1921, the family moved to Elma where Anne completed her schooling and worked in the family business, operating the Elma Hotel. In 1935, she married William Kachur of Elma. They resided in the area where Bill was employed as a school teacher and where their three children Ronald, Gerald and Irene were born. In 1952, the family moved to Fisher Branch and then in 1957 to Lac du Bonnet. In 1964, Anne and Bill retired to Winnipeg. Anne moved back to Lac du Bonnet in 1987 to be near her children and grandchildren, as family was always important to her. Besides being a great cook, she enjoyed working in the garden and canning. She liked dancing, singing and playing a harmonica, and continued to do so until quite recently. Anne loved travelling, together with her husband and later her children, and visited many parts of Canada, United States, Europe and Mexico. She was predeceased by her infant son Ronald, her loving husband Bill and eight of her siblings. She is survived by her sister Jean Shewchuk, her sister-in-law Anne Seip, her son Gerald and wife Mary, her daughter Irene and husband John Grewinski, both of Lac du Bonnet. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren Tammy Lussier (Micheal), Stacey Johnson (Boyd), Jarrett Kachur (Michelle), Mark Grewinski (Louise), Devin Grewinski, Daylene King (Ryan), Brenley Grewinski; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. The family sincerely thanks the staff at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home for all their loving and gentle care of our mother during her five year stay.
