Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE IDA HALLICK (nee KLEMAS) Peacefully at Concordia Place at the age of 96, Elsie Hallick beloved wife of the late Julius Hallick, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Survived by her son Barry (Pat), stepson George of Starbuck, Manitoba and family, stepdaughter Dorothy Rekken of Fargo, North Dakota and family, four grandchildren, Tracey (Jim), Kim (Harry), Chris (Tim), Jodi and three great-grandchildren Simon, Sam and Jennine. Predeceased by her parents John and Minnie Klemas and brothers and sisters, Hilda (Jackie) Anderson, Harley Klemas, Donald Klemas, Alben Klemas, Pearl Reich, Thelma Svendsen, Irene Marci, Hazel Gorzen, Florence St. Onge, Archie and Margaret in infancy. Elsie was the longest living member of the Klemas family. Elsie and Julius farmed for many years in Starbuck, Manitoba. She enjoyed family gatherings especially hosting parties at the farm. She loved cooking meals, baking, gardening and sewing. In 1974 Elsie and Julius sold the family farm and bought a house in Transcona where she lived until she was 93 years old. Elsie was an avid curling fan. She spent many hours at the rink watching the game she loved, especially when her son Barry was playing. She also loved watching baseball and later in life would listen to baseball games on the radio. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and they have many fond memories of their grandmother especially the many lunch dates they shared. A special thanks to the excellent nurses and caregivers on the 3rd Floor at Concordia Place for all their tender loving care of Mom. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place prior to the service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Elsie's memory to the charity of one's choice. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
