Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGWENDOLINE MARY FOWLIE (nee WRIGHT) We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Gwen on July 1, 2009, at Victoria General Hospital. Gwen leaves to mourn her son Frank and his partner Mary Ann Mulhern, of Richmond, BC, and grandson Chris, of Saskatoon. She also leaves her sister Heather and her family: Joyce (Vaughn Ellis); Larry Watts, Wayne and Jeanette Watts, Heather (Dale Kinsella), Phyllis (Tom Williams) Brett Watts, Doug (Kim) Watts; and sister Helen and god-daughter Bonnie (Bob Cross) and her family Jenny (Florian Schott) and Marnie. Gwen was born on March 4, 1923 at Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon (2004), sister Joyce (1997) and parents Lottie and Samuel Wright. Gwen was raised in Winnipeg, and married Gordon in 1951. Gwen was involved in many volunteer and social activities. She was the first recording secretary for the Riverside Lionelles Club. Gwen was the Past President of the Shiners' Khartum Temple Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the PEO sorority, and served on many of its committees. Gwen was a long standing member of the Niakwa Country Club, and was an avid bridge player. Our thanks to the physicians, nurses, and staff at the Victoria General Hospital and the Manitoba Cancer Centre. Following cremation and a private interment at Elmwood Cemetery, a social lunch will be held as a memorial for Gwen at the Niakwa Country Club at noon, on Monday, July 6, 2009.
