GRACE ELIZA BURTON (nee ST. CLAIR / SINCLAIR) We are saddened to announce the passing of Grace Eliza Burton on June 26, 2009, at the Grace Hospice, Winnipeg. Our mother was predeceased by her husband (of 53 years) Everett, in 1995. Her parents Mungo and Julina, her sister Jessie, her brothers James, Douglas and Alexander and her infant son Ronnie also predeceased her. She is survived and will be dearly missed by daughters Gwen (John Briggs) and Yvonne (Ed Enns); her sons Robert (Deanna) and Donald (Gwyn); grandchildren Laurie, Angela, Colleen, Dan, Holly, Lana and Rhonda, as well as 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Grace Eliza was born October 31, 1922 at Rossendale, Manitoba. During marriage she was a hardworking mother and farm wife in the Bagot and Edwin districts before moving to Portage la Prairie in 1956, where she worked at several businesses before spending ten years at Campbell Soup. At that time they moved to Hanley, BC to help take care of her mother. Mom missed having her children and grandchildren around her and after Dad passed away she moved back to Manitoba. She spent the next 12 years living at the Kiwanis Chateau in Winnipeg. Her last few months were spent at the Grace Hospice, where in spite of her illness, she was known for always having a smile on her face and a happy attitude. Her family would like to thank the staff there for the wonderful care they gave her. Mom enjoyed doing handcrafts and reading until her eyes prevented it. She was also very proud and interested in her Scottish ancestry. To respect her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Funeral arrangement in care of Ronald Moffit Memorial Services.
