ALEXANDER (SANDY) J. MILNE May 23, 1951 - June 30, 2009 On Tuesday, June 30, 2009, Sandy, after a short illness, passed away with his wife, partner and life long friend at his side. Sandy was predeceased by his parents Alex and Betty Milne and is missed terribly by his wife Kim, son Alex and partner Sandy, step-son Jason, his beloved grandson AJ and AJ's mother Farran, sisters Margie and Marlene, brother-in-law Ross and sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Wayne and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and four-legged friend Duke. Sandy retired from MTS in 2005 and pursued his other passions of photography, nature, wildlife and all things scientific. He was an avid follower of outer space and the space program and enjoyed being outside at night watching space shuttles, space stations, and other celestial objects passing through our skies. Sandy was a HAM radio operator and spent many pleasant hours chatting to folks or listening to the nets especially when we were at our cottage at Rice Lake in Ontario. Sandy loved our cottage and spent as much time as possible there, boating, fishing, wildlife spotting and just sitting listening to the wind in the trees. Sandy took up the game of darts in recent years, joining two leagues passing the winters in this activity and making many new friends. At Sandy's request cremation has taken place and there will be no formal services. For those so inclined, Sandy's favourite charities were Polar Bears International, 550-5 Donald St. R3L 2G4 and CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave. R3E 0V9

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Sandy and I grew up in St James and spent much of our time at Airways Community Club. Our parents were friends and so were we. I still have fond memories of our chats together. Sandy really thought outside of the box. So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Judy Iverson McCoy (Friend) on: May 08, 2022
