JONINA (JONI) LOCKHART (nee LAXDAL) After a brief struggle our dearest Joni passed away June 20, 2009 at Lions Gate Hospital with several of her family present. Left to mourn are father and mother Thomas (Bun) and Freda Laxdal of Winnipeg , son Taylor and his father Jim Lockhart, brother Tom of Winnipeg, uncles Bill (Brenda) Britton, Fred (Pat) Britton; aunts Esther, Lorraine (Ted), and her special friend Thos with whom she shared much happiness over the past few years. Joni joins her dearest friend cousin Leslie who died one year ago. Born in Winnipeg on May 13, 1956, Joni grew up in Charleswood and attended Chapman and Royal Schools, graduating from St. Mary's Academy. Joni studied court reporting in Minneapolis and had a successful career in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Joni also leaves many dear friends to mourn her. A memorial service was held for Joni on June 27 in North Vancouver. Joni we miss you and we will always love you.
