Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA (TRISH) RIEDIGER (nee EDWARDS) Peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2009, Trish lost her four year battle with breast cancer with her family by her side. Left to mourn are her husband Dave, children Michael, Kim, and Nicole, mother Elaine, sisters Sharon (Scott), Heather (Eric), and Susan (Tom), loving parents-in-law John and Anna, brother-in-law Don (Riggz), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and countless loving friends. Trish was predeceased by her father Jackson. Trish was born June 22, 1962 in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she attended high school at St. James Collegiate and graduated from the University of Manitoba school of Dental Hygiene in 1982 where she met her best friend and the love of her life, Dave. After waiting for Dave to graduate the couple were married in 1983 and moved to Kenora to begin their dental practice together. After 26 years of dental hygiene, she formed lasting relationships with her patients and fellow colleagues. Trish was a dedicated athlete, involved in every high school sport possible and later confined herself to golf, curling, baseball and eventually completed five full marathons and several half marathons all after the age of 40. She was also involved locally running the Children's Concert series and was on the Board of the Hospital Foundation. Trish was always in her element when she was around people and the house was always filled with friends and family in the summer months. It always made her happier when the house was full of her children's friends. Her camera was never far away and she captured many memorable moments that all family members cherish to this day. She took great pleasure in planning trips including numerous family vacations and two Mediterranean cruises with her special friends. She was very proud of her family and made many sacrifices to provide opportunities for them. Trish touched everyone she ever met, with her contagious smile and electric personality. She was always so full of life, voicing kind words about everyone and always looking at the positive side of any situation. Her zest for life and her courageous spirit are a constant reminder for each of us to live every day to the fullest. The family would like to express their thanks to all of their wonderful friends and relatives, all the love and support has been overwhelming. They would also like to thank the staff of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, especially Dr. Jim Beveridge, Dr. Bruce Daly and the nurses of the chemo department and 3rd East for their exceptional care. Her joyful smile and quick laugh will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. For all your years of love and support, We thank you Mom, For being our strength, For holding our hands, For always believing in us. Know that you will be cherished, Always, In our hearts, And in our minds. Know that whatever barrier may separate us, You will always be by our sides. And we, in turn, Will always be by yours. Funeral Service will be held at Notre Dame du Portage (Kenora) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2009. If friends so wish, donations may be made to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation.
