Born: Nov 20, 1917
Date of Passing: Jul 04, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGUERITE DOROTHY KIPPEN Marge slipped peacefully from this world on July 4, 2009. She was predeceased by her parents Earl and Dorothy Badger, brother Bud, and former husband Duncan L. Kippen. Marge is survived by sons Duncan (Shirley), Robert (Maura) and daughter Stacey Weeks (Andy) and sister Nonny Nichols, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, many extended family and dear friends. Marge was born to Earl and Dorothy Badger November 20, 1917 in London, England. In her mother's arms she sailed to Canada arriving at the family farm near Carman, Manitoba. After the war Earl rejoined his family. From there they moved to Weyburn and finally to Moose Jaw where Marge graduated high school. Nursing brought her to Winnipeg General Hospital. She married Duncan and spent her life in Winnipeg raising their children. A perfect mom, she was always there to support her family. As the children grew she had more time to curl at the Winter Club, play bridge, support the Blue Bombers, and volunteer for the United Church. She developed many special friendships. Summers were spent at West Hawk Lake for many happy years. Friends and family most remember her great sense of humour, big heart and generosity with her time and love. Marge will be forever remembered by all who loved her dearly. Cremation has taken place and as requested no formal funeral will take place. Flowers are gratefully declined but if so desired donations may be made to The Grace Hospital Foundation, Golden West Centennial Lodge or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the many caregivers and friends who supported Mom with skill, caring and dignity these past years especially the 4th floor at Golden West and Dr. Gordon Griggs; the ER and ward staff at Grace Hospital, and Dr. J. Joshua. You all should know how much that gentle touch or smile means to those who receive it. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Holiday Inn Winnipeg, 2520 Portage Ave., on Monday, July 27, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
