Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY PETER HILDEBRAND May 8, 1950 July 8, 2009 After living with cancer for two years Stan passed away peacefully July 8, 2009 at the Altona Hospital at the age of 59 years. He is survived by his wife Ieva Jessens; mother Mary Hildebrand; son Jarad, daughter Casie, brother Rick, his children's mother Susan, and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. Stan was predeceased by his father Peter and his sister Sharon. Stan was a surveyor since the age of 17. For 20 years he worked as the Head of Surveys and Mapping for the Keewaitin District in Northern Canada for Transport Canada. During that time he built and maintained 143 landing strips from Grise Fiord to Churchill. He spent one year in Trinidad and Tobago sponsored by CIDA to train local surveyors. He had his own company called Hillstone Surveys for some years. Most recently he worked with Valard Construction, doing work in Squamish, Cold Lake, Fort MacMurray, Alberta; Attawapiskat and Kashewan in Northern Ontario. When at home he enjoyed golfing, handyman work and helping his wife with her many gardens. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching major sporting events with his friends, in Stonewall where he lived over 20 years; the last five years in Altona. His wish was to travel to Nova Scotia to visit with his wife's family and friends. This was accomplished in June and was truly the time of his life. He enjoyed every minute, every person, every scene and every lobster to the fullest. This is assurance that he was truly happy, and many thanks to all who made this possible. Stan's special gift to us all was his love of life which he shared with all his family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Lawrence Tan surgeon at the H.S.C., the staff at Boundary Trails Community Cancer Care, Altona Palliative Care and staff at the Altona Hospital. Thanks also to Rev. Lesley Calder of Altona United Church. According to Stan's wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his life will be held Monday, July 13, 2009, 5:00 p.m. at the United Church in Altona. I worked with Stan in the surveying department at Transport Canada during the 1970s before moving on to other opportunities in Alberta. Stan was an absolute prince of a person. He had the best sense of humour ever. He was always great for morale and made work an enjoyable time for all of his colleagues. Stan will be truly missed by the many many people he touched throughout his life. My heart goes out to each and all of his family. - Posted by: Greg Warbanski (Co-worker) on: Aug 29, 2025

You were the best dad I could ask for. You taught Jarad me lots and I'm so thankful I got to experience so much love from my father. I visit you all the time. I left flowers between u and grandma and grandpa. Jarad left his level and it's still pretty level Considering it was placed a few months ago. Winter's here now so I'll have one more visit to put in and then it'll b all snow covered at grave site. Love you dearly. Your daughter♡ - Posted by: Kc Hildebrand () on: Nov 16, 2014
