WILMA (MINNIE) KOLBA April 24, 1921 July 9, 2009 In her 88th year, at the Victoria General Hospital, peacefully and with grace Wilma took her final journey on July 9, 2009. Loving mother of Linda Ouellet (Gilles) and cherished grandmother of Guy Mastaler (Nicole), Kira Remington (David), Lara Anders (Aaron), Jennifer Coalwell (David), Lance Mastaler (Lucy), Conrad Kolba (Andrea), Cyrus Kolba, and her daughter-in-law Donna Kolba-Medina, 23 great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. Wilma treasured her friendship with sister-in-law Anastasia O'Neal and cousin Jean Uhryn. She was predeceased by her husband Tom, son Gerry, daughter Laura and infant daughter Vivian as well as brothers Bill, Nicholas, Mike and Peter Pasiniuk and sisters Jean Zoratti and June Winstanley and sister-in-law Lucille Pasiniuk. Wilma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them, helping out, listening and sharing her own life experiences with them. And to her daughter Linda and late son Gerry, she was an exceptional mother, a wonderful example of selfless love, and with utmost respect, a best friend to them. Wilma had many loves and hobbies from sewing clothes, draperies and home décor, crosswords and cryptoquotes, entertaining friends and relatives to travelling with her husband; the most memorable, touring Europe, the Middle East and Russia. They were partners together in several business ventures and after operating the Elma General Store for many years they moved to Winnipeg and eventually settled in Windsor Park where they lived for 34 years. After Tom passed away, she lived at the Quest Inn Assisted Living Centre for 13 years. She was currently living at River Park Gardens Personal Care Home in St. Vital. Special thanks to the staff there for all their love, caring and understanding. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July, 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. Reverend Father Darren Gurr will be officiating. Following a luncheon, interment of her ashes will take place at the Hadashville Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. All are welcome to join the family.
