Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN LYSAK (nee DOBROWOLSKI) April 20, 1918 - July 6, 2009 Peacefully, Mom passed away on Monday, July 6th, 2009 at the Beausejour Hospital. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Harvey (Nancy) Lysack, Ruth (Gerald) Peluk, and Jack (Loraine) Lysak; her grandchildren Darrin (Maria) Lysack, Brian (Christie) Lysack, Audrey (Vern) Ross and David (Melanie) Lysack, Dennis Peluk (Laurie) , Cindy (Roger) Wilton, Scott Peluk (Kelly), Christopher (Carmel) Lysak and Tracey (Tim) Fiebelkorn; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Julia Drabyk; her brother Frank Dobrowolski (Helen) and sister-in-law Adele. Mom was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1994; her mother and father Walter and Francis; her brothers Anton, Stanley, Joe, and John; her sister Louise and an infant sister. Mom was born in Lowland, MB. She married Harry and they settled on the family farm in Allegra, MB, where they farmed and raised their three children. In her younger years, Mom kept busy on the farm by looking after all the animals and tending to her gardens and her yard which she took great pride in. Her efforts and hard work earned them two Birk's Dingwall Cup Awards for the best kept yard in the RM of Brokenhead. Visits to the farm never left you hungry. Baba would put a small lunch together for visitors that consisted of a 12 course meal. Guests would never leave empty handed, as she would fill their hands with the fruits of her labour or her famous perogies and pereshke buns. In her spare time, Baba loved to crochet and we will all cherish the slippers and beautiful afghans that she made for us. In 1988 Helen and Harry retired from the farm and moved to Beausejour to live out their senior years. Family was most important to Baba and she kept us all near to her heart with our family pictures on her wall. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Campbell for his care and compassion and a deep appreciation to the nursing staff at Beausejour Hospital for their care during her many visits. We would also like to thank the Home Care team that enabled mom to stay in her home until she was recently hospitalized. At her request, a private family service was held on Friday, July 10th, at Sobering Funeral Chapel and interment at St. Demitrius Cemetery in Ladywood. Because of her love of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Beausejour Daylily Gardens, Box 1028, Beausejour, MB., R0E 0C0 or a charity of one's choice. VICHNAYA PAMYAT
