JAMES (JIM) LOVE After a long battle with Alzheimer's, Jim passed away with his daughters at his side on July 2, 2009. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty; infant daughter, Lindsay; and his parents. Jim is survived by children Tracy (Don Watson); George; and Corri (Ryan McDowell); and special family friend, Rob Cecile. Dad will also be missed by his cherished grandchildren; granddaughters Kira and Hunter Watson; and grandsons Rory and Brycen McDowell. Jim is also survived by his brother Bill and family in BC; his sisters-in-law Sheila Robertson and Margaret Grant; and by many nieces and nephews. Dad lost his own father at a very young age, and since then always worked hard for his family. Though he often worked two jobs, Jim was always willing to help anyone if they needed an extra hand or hammer to get a job done. In Jim's youth, he excelled at diving, swimming, and competitive wrestling. Dad was also skilled at woodworking and when our family was young, Dad made most of our furniture; some of which is still in excellent condition and has been built so well that it will outlast us all. After Dad retired, he could be seen at least twice a day walking his dog, Scruffy, no matter what the weather. Dad was caring, gentle, and supportive and we will miss him. Dad spent five years at Extendicare Oakview Place. The family wishes to thank the staff (including food services and housekeeping) who worked with use to ensure Jim received quality care. Thank you to all our Highcliff Bay neighbors, our friends, and co-workers for their support and concern during the past five years. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so wish, donations in Dad's name can be directed to the Winnipeg Humane Society. At Dad's request, there will not be any service.
