Daniel David Parent 1965 - 1993 As I passed a mirror the other day I saw lines and creases and bits of grey And wondered where the years had gone. What accomplishments had I counted on? Some were fulfilled but others not done, Or skipped perhaps for some unplanned fun. I remembered the day life gave you to me, The years that followed turned out to be So full of events that were rarely predicted The best memories come from those days, unrestricted Delight, my son, a few perils it's true, But I'd twenty-eight beautiful years with you. So, what we see in the mirror, I know Is not the things we intended to show But life, as we've lived it. Yours Dan, was loving and laughing each minute And mine so much richer because you were in it.
