JOHN ROY MCPHAIL August 17, 1926 July 8, 2009 It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary McPhail; children, Grant (Dale Severyn) Cameron, Andrew; Doug (Winny Mills) Taylor, Madison; Dori Jones (Tom) Christy, Mack; and Mary's children, Laurie Harrison (Rick) Brock, Jill; Allan Maclean, Jenny, Jessica; Keith Maclean (Grace) Ryan, Josh, Ben; Margot Maclean; and numerous friends and relatives. John graduated from U of M in 1950 with a degree in Agriculture. He worked in the dairy, grain and fuel distribution businesses and was an avid hobby rancher. After many years in Brandon raising his family, John moved to Edmonton and married Mary in 1982. He worked for several years in Edmonton as a Business Consultant and was active for 30 years in the AA movement. Through Mary, he also became a somewhat reluctant opera fan. A memorial celebration will take place on Monday, July 13 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Howard McBride Westlawn, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton. Howard McBride Westlawn Chapel (780) 484-5500
